Rare Fish proves the value of a free-flowing river

Rare Fish proves the value of a free-flowing river – A rare fish discovered in the Flint River in the 1990s has been officially named the Percina crypta. Commonly referred to as the Halloween darter, the fish is only found in free-flowing shoals on the Flint and Chattahoochee Rivers.  Also unique to the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint system are the shoal bass, which is highly prized among fishermen. –New GA Encyclopedia
