Nuni Ford

Alexandra is a native of North Florida where she grew up playing sports and training bird dogs on their farm in Climax, Georgia for field trials and fishing whenever she had the chance. She graduated from Leon High School in Tallahassee and attended college initially at Auburn University and then The University of Montana where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in forestry in 2012.

After graduation, Nuni (a lifelong nickname) worked for a Consulting Forester in Albany, Georgia before taking a fulltime job with The Georgia Forestry Commission in McRae, Georgia as a County Forester. She assisted landowners with forest management recommendations, cost share programs and prescribe burning. After transferring to the Americus office in 2015, she was promoted to Stewardship Specialist where she primarily focused on writing 10-year management plans for landowners and working with the 30 Conservation Easements GFC hold throughout the state. Four of which are along the Flint River and multiple more within the watershed. She became a Registered Forester in 2019 and now holds the title of Stewardship and Legacy Forester with GFC where she partners with the Georgia DNR and US Forest Service to protect and acquire public lands all over Georgia.

Nuni and her husband Zeth have a six-year-old daughter, Jensi and they live in Oakfield, Georgia where the Flint River is their backyard. Zeth is an Assistant Principal in Lee County where Jensi is currently in kindergarten there. They also have three dogs: two English Cockers and one Small Munsterlander. They all love the Georgia Bulldogs, golfing, cooking, hunting, fishing, floating and playing in the river as much as they can.
